Dear Licensing Candidates,
Summer is almost here, and before you dive into some well-deserved downtime, I wanted to send a few quick updates your way. Whether you're planning a vacation or just taking it a little slower, summer can still be a great time to stay on track with your licensure goals. Try sneaking in short study sessions—bring a study guide to the airport or review a few flash cards while relaxing poolside. Small, consistent efforts can go a long way.

Latest Updates to ARE5.0 Are Now Live
No More Drag-and-Place
As of April 28th, 2025 the drag-and-place item type will no longer be used on ARE 5.0 exams. You’ll only see three items types on the tests:
Multiple Choice
Check-all-that-apply
Hotspot
Each exam will have the same number of questions overall, meaning you will see more of the multiple choice, check all that apply, and hotspot item types.
Remember, all questions are worth one point! There is no partial credit.
Provisional Feedback
At the end of your exam when you click “Yes. End Exam and Submit” you will automatically see provisional feedback. Provisional feedback can be considered fully accurate, but is not official until the score validation process is complete and you receive your score report in your NCARB Record.
AIA Louisiana Digital Library
In the January 2025 newsletter I highlighted the AIA LA Digital Library that allows AIA members, including associate members, to borrow digital content anytime, anywhere, including NCARB recommended study/resource materials.
It was brought to my attention that there were some associate AIA members that were experiencing difficulties when entering their AIA membership number. If you are experiencing this please reach out to me via email so that we can resolve this for you!
AIA LA Associates Scholarship (DEADLINE APPROACHING)
Funding to attend State Conference
AIA Louisiana Scholarship Committee is proud to release the 2025 Call for Entries providing scholarship funds to AIA LA Associate/intern members to attend the 2025 State Conference! This scholarship is open to any and all current AIA Louisiana Associate members. Associate Member is defined as those with a professional degree in architecture that have not yet received their license. Deadline to submit is May 30th.
This year at the AIA State Conference LSBAE will have a booth in the exhibitor’s hall! Stay on the look out for more info! We hope to see you there!
